This PERKINS funded collaborative is a partnership among four Texas Community Colleges, with a goal to create and allow statewide access to web-based modules that focus on effective retention strategies.
Modules include:
Toolkitsto employ strategies that focus on technology in the classroom and distance learning, which impact retention for students in widespread rural areas. Laredo Community College will showcase and provide.
S.O.S, Success for Our Students,that provides both orientation and Early Alert intervention programs that impact retention. Texas State Technical College – West Texas, will demonstrate.
Expertise in providing professional development programs to encourage collaborative learning, and to implement Learning Communities. North West Vista College (Alamo Community College District) will share.
Techniques on implementing tutoring programs, such as Tutor Coach. The final module, New Ventures, will explore arenas for which effective retention strategies need to be developed. Tomball College (North Harris Montgomery Community College District) will impart.
