"MOTIVATING STUDENTS FROM DAY ONE TO GRADUATION"
   2:30 - 3:30 ET, 1:30 - 2:30 CT with a 30 minute audioconference immediately following
Students show up on the first day of college motivated, eager, and ready to make a clean start. If we can grab on to that raw motivation and develop it, our students will be likely to persist. However, student motivation can be lost as early as Day 1 if we fail to meet students’ first day needs and expectations.

In this workshop we’ll take a detailed look at how to maximize our first impression, inspire students to succeed, develop self-management and success skills, and create the relationships with fellow classmates and faculty that are key to retention. Extensive handouts and teaching outlines will be provided.

This workshop will also reveal how to:

  • Discover the top 10 factors in student motivation
  • Kick-start learning with the six keys to brainpower and memory
  • Create an educational and career vision
  • Coach rather than instruct
  • Tap into students’ enthusiasm for learning and turn it into motivation for success
